Privacy Policy
PsychIQ is designed to minimize data collection. You can take tests as a guest without creating an account or entering an email.
Guest Results
Guest results may be saved in your browser storage so you can return to a completed result and avoid losing it on refresh. Clearing browser data removes guest results.
Ads and Analytics
Payments
Premium checkout is handled by Stripe. PsychIQ does not store your full card number.
Sensitive Information
These assessments are educational self-reflection tools, not medical records, diagnoses, or replacements for licensed professional care.
Who we are & how to reach us
PsychIQ is an independent psychology-education project. For any privacy request or question, email hello@psychiqlab.com. For privacy purposes, the operator of PsychIQ is the data controller for the limited data described here.
What we collect
You don't need an account, and we never ask for your name or email to take a test or see your result. Your answers and results are scored and stored locally in your own browser, not in an account tied to you. We collect only: (1) anonymous, aggregate usage statistics (for example, how many people completed a test — used to power counters and provisional percentile norms), (2) standard server and security logs, and (3) if you choose to submit to an opt-in leaderboard, only the display name and score you explicitly enter.
Cookies & your choices
We use essential cookies (to make the site work), analytics cookies (to understand aggregate usage), and advertising cookies (see below). On your first visit you can choose "Accept all" or "Only essential." In the EEA and UK, non-essential cookies stay off until you consent. You can change your choice any time by clearing your browser's site data for PsychIQ, which brings the banner back.
Advertising
PsychIQ is funded partly by ads served through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits. Personalized advertising is gated by your consent choice via Google Consent Mode. You can control ad personalization at Google's My Ad Center and learn how Google uses data at google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We never show ads inside sensitive mental-health screeners.
Affiliate links
Some outbound recommendations shown after a test (such as books) may be affiliate links. If you purchase through one, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links never change your result or what we recommend, and they never appear before or during a test.
Payments
Optional premium passes and donations are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; Stripe handles them under its own privacy policy. Premium status is stored locally in your browser, not in an account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. Because your test data lives in your own browser, clearing your site data deletes it immediately and completely. You can opt out of personalized ads using the "Only essential" option or the Google controls above. For any other request, email hello@psychiqlab.com.
Data retention
On-device data (your answers, results, and premium status) stays until you clear your browser storage. Anonymous, aggregate statistics that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely to maintain norms and counters.
Children
PsychIQ is not directed to children. It is intended for users age 16 and older (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Last updated: July 2, 2026.
