About PsychIQ
PsychIQ is a free psychology assessment platform with 55 science-backed tests spanning cognitive ability, personality, relationships, emotional health, and self-understanding. We exist because the rest of the internet turned self-knowledge into a trap — "free" tests that demand your email and money the moment you want your own result. We deleted that model.
Free, with nothing held hostage
Every test and every full result is free. No paywall on your own result, no email wall, no "unlock your score for $29." We are funded by unobtrusive ads and optional donations — never by trapping your curiosity.
Built on real frameworks
Each assessment is grounded in or inspired by published, peer-reviewed instruments — the same families of measures used by clinicians and researchers. We cite the framework behind every test and never invent pseudo-science.
Private by design
Your answers are scored on your device. We do not require an account, and we do not sell your responses to anyone — full stop.
Honest about limits
These are educational self-assessments, not clinical diagnoses. We tell you when a result is an estimate, score the reliability of your answers, and point to real help when a topic is serious.
How our tests are built
We start from the validated instrument or research tradition for a construct, then write original, behaviorally-anchored items so the questions feel concrete rather than abstract. Tests are reverse-keyed to control for yea-saying, include hidden validity checks that flag careless or impression-managed responses, and report subscales — not just a single number. Many tests now ship in multiple parallel forms that rotate each time you take them, so practice and repeat-takes stay meaningful.
Public-domain clinical screeners (such as the PHQ-9, GAD-7, ASRS, and ACE) are presented at their exact validated lengths, never padded or altered.
How PsychIQ is funded
PsychIQ is free because it's supported three ways: unobtrusive display ads, optional "pay-what-you-want" donations, and occasional affiliate links — for example, a relevant book we recommend after you finish a test. If you buy through one of those links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
None of this ever changes your result or which resources we surface. We only recommend things we'd stand behind, we never place ads or affiliate links inside sensitive mental-health screeners, and premium (Life Mirror) simply removes ads and adds a cross-test report — your individual test results are always free and complete.
