The Rejection Sensitivity Test

How much does the possibility of 'no' run your life?

About this assessment

A behavioral self-assessment of rejection sensitivity — the tendency to anxiously expect rejection, readily perceive it in ambiguous signals, and react to it with disproportionate intensity. Inspired by the Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire (Downey & Feldman, 1996), the Adult Rejection Sensitivity scale (Berenson et al., 2009), and the clinical discussion of 'rejection sensitive dysphoria' in the ADHD community (Dodson) — with the honest caveat that RSD is not a DSM diagnosis and this is not a diagnostic tool. The test measures five dimensions: anxious anticipation before asking; a radar that reads rejection into ambiguity; the intensity of the emotional flare when rejection lands; preemptive self-protection that avoids asks altogether; and the rumination and slow recovery that follow. Items are behavioral rather than abstract — they ask about what you actually do, not what you believe about yourself in theory. Higher scores indicate more active rejection sensitivity in that dimension. For self-reflection and education only, not a clinical diagnosis or a substitute for professional support.
